Applications for maritime heritage funding now open

The Geelong Naval and Maritime Collection. In 2023, The City of Greater Geelong received MMAPSS funding to conduct a Preservation Needs Assessment on the storage and housing of its nationally-significant maritime collections.

Applications for the 2026-27 round of the Maritime Museums of Australia Project Support Scheme (MMAPSS) are open now until 3:00pm (AEDT) Tuesday 24th March 2026.


Apply now for your chance to secure up to $15,000 in funding for projects which preserve, interpret, or provide access to objects or collections of significance to Australia’s shared maritime story.

Funding of up to $3,000 is also available for staff or volunteers of maritime heritage institutions to attend a week-long professional development course at the Australian National Maritime Museum in November.


What are your organisation's priorities for the year ahead? Whether you are planning to tackle conservation, collections management, presentations and displays, or public programming and education, support is available.
