Museum information for AMMC pop-up display

The AMMC is developing a portable pop-up exhibition to showcase us as an organisation, as well as the diversity and national significance represented by our Board member museums. The display will debut at the International Congress of Maritime Museums in Sydney (September 2026) and the Australian Wooden Boat Festival in Tasmania (February 2027), with additional use for future events.

The display will be authored and edited by the AMMC to form a coherent visual and textual narrative, rather than a collection of individual displays. The aim is to present a clear, engaging and internationally relevant narrative about Australia’s maritime heritage and the organisations that preserve it. Board members are asked to provide information about their institutions, to be featured on the lightboxes as dedicated panels.

Each participating museum is asked to provide its official details, short written description, and up to four high-resolution images with copyright and captions.Submitted text may be edited for clarity, length and consistency, and AMMC will make final decisions regarding wording, image selection, layout and presentation.

This survey gathers the information needed to ensure your museum is accurately represented within the exhibition and the broader story of Australia’s maritime heritage.

If you have any queries, please reach out to Liam.

Submissions must be returned by Wednesday 19 August 2026.
